Boo!

Happy Halloween everyone!
Today is a day to dress up out of the ordinary, have some fun with it, eat a little bit extra sugar, go around your neighborhood swapping candy and laughing at everyones ridiculous costumes.
I hope your Halloween is not scary (unless you like that stuff) safe, and just a good ol' time!
A few fun sort of Halloween'y things...

Cute t-shirts if you don't want to dress up, but still look festive.

We went to the art exhibit this weekend on top of the Metropolitan Rooftop. They installed a replica of the barn off of Alfred Hitchcock's movie, Pyscho. It started raining as soon as we got up there- which made it a little more creepy! :/

A list of non spooky movies to watch.

I made turkey pumpkin chili the other night and it was delicccccccious. (the pumpkin is subtle)

Largest pumpkin grown to date!

If I went trick or treating to this house, I think I would stay there the rest of the night sitting in that rocking chair! I love how inviting and warm the front porch looks.

A little Halloween throwback to 1995! Over 20 years ago! I was Dolly Parton (on the right) Tara, I think you were a 50's sock hop girl?! Thank goodness this was documented.

happy boogity boogity boo day and smile to everyone instead of scaring them,

Fall Bucketlist

Buh-Bye Summer! Hello Fall! Glad you're here!
Fall came overnight in NYC! It's chilly and it feels good!
I love when a new season arrives. What will it bring? One thing I know for sure, I'm getting my Fall Bucketlist started and looking forward to enjoying the experiences and moments this Fall 2016 will bring.

As my mother would say, it's Fall Ya'll!

Beginner's list for Fall

My Fall Bucketlist

1.  Apple Picking!
We went a few years ago loved it. We're going again in a few weeks.

2. Go to the Dallas Arboretum Pumpkin Village next time we're in Texas.

3. Make homemade apple cider. I want to try all of these recipes!

4. Check this off my list...
I have been contemplating over the knee boots for awhile now and finally found some that fit like a glove and are so comfortable.

5. Try and re-create these table settings.

6. Play in the leaves like a little girl.

7. Give baby pumpkins to friends. Who wouldn't love a baby pumpkin?

8. Make pumpkin smoothies.
This one, this one, and this one look delicious.

9. Light pumpkin candles every...single...day.
TJ Maxx has the best selection and pretty cheap. Go right now and stock up!

10. Appreciate and enjoy every single day this Autumn brings.

Hop in your car, drive through some fall foliage, listen to Ain't No Mountain High Enough and enjoy the wonderful weekend! (and maybe watch Stepmom if you have time)

gingham this, gingham that

Gingham.
Probably one of the cutest patterns ever made. Wear it, decorate with it, picnic with it, gingham this and gingham that. A good gingham shirt goes with just about darn near anything you pair it with.
Are you a gingham fan?

Adorable dress.

I'm asking Santa Clause for these jammies

Apparently every man owns this shirt.

If you want to follow the gingham shirt on instagram, here is the pretty little shirt's account.

If you want to add a shirt to your wardrobe, for womenfor men.

Love the length of this shirt and on major sale.

Not sure how to style gingham? Here's a little help.

A great gift for a man.

Cute pillows  to add a classic touch to your home.

Cloth napkins in every color imaginable.

Put a little gingham in your step on this wonderful Wednesday.

lots of gingham love,

coffee

Are you a coffee drinker?
We're going to a coffee festival next weekend so I felt the calling on my caffeinated heart to blog about coffee. Signs are going up around town for the infamous "pumpkin spice latte" which is still a little too early to get- but makes me excited for Fall.
This post is going to be pretty simple and sweet. Coffee is good.

When we first got married, buying matching coffee cups was a BIG deal to us. These were the ones we decided on.

Our favorite coffee spot in NYC. The coffee is so delicious and they put pretty swirly designs on top.

Fun facts about coffee in America.

New Yorkers drink almost 7 times more coffee than other cities in the US!

Have you ever tried chocolate with your coffee? My in-laws started me on it- now my parents do it. It will have yourself thinking, why have I not done this before?

Jennifer Aniston's shining moments serving coffee.

One of the reasons I think I enjoy coffee so much are the moments that come with it. Meeting that friend you haven't seen in awhile over a cup of coffee, getting up early and having quiet time, putting on a HUGE pot of coffee when you're having family get-togethers. It brings good conversation, memories, and laughs.

Enjoy a cup of joe this weekend with someone you love.

medium latte with a side of chocolate please,

what's your love language?

We were at a friend's bbq the other night and the conversation was brought up about love languages. Some people had no clue what this even meant. A love language, what do you mean? What is that?! Have you read the book, The 5 Love Languages? I'm sure many people have told you about it just like they told us. Everyone suggests reading this book. But now I'm asking you to read the book :) It just makes sense. It can help you in every relationship in your life with your mother, father, sister, brother, friends, cousins, spouse...

Buy the book here: The 5 Love Languages

The 5 Love Languages are:

1. Quality Time

2. Acts of Service

3. Words of Affirmation

4. Receiving Gifts

5. Physical Touch

Do you know which love language you are?

If you're quality time like me, pick from one of these awesome movies and have a quality night with quality people.

This gift gifting quiz might help you if you're looking to give a gift to your loved one.

A few of my favorite TV odd couples who are so opposite and I'm sure had very opposite love languages are...

                                               Dharma and Greg

The Nanny & Mr. Scheffield

Lucy & Ricky
