what's your love language?

We were at a friend's bbq the other night and the conversation was brought up about love languages. Some people had no clue what this even meant. A love language, what do you mean? What is that?! Have you read the book, The 5 Love Languages? I'm sure many people have told you about it just like they told us. Everyone suggests reading this book. But now I'm asking you to read the book :) It just makes sense. It can help you in every relationship in your life with your mother, father, sister, brother, friends, cousins, spouse...

Buy the book here: The 5 Love Languages

The 5 Love Languages are:

1. Quality Time

2. Acts of Service

3. Words of Affirmation

s'mores

S'more

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
S'more

A s'more is a marshmallow that has been roasted over a fire then put between two graham crackers with a layer of chocolate.

 Cookbook: S'more   Media: S'more
s'more (sometimes spelled smore) is a traditional nighttime campfire treat popular in the United States andCanada, consisting of a fire-roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces ofgraham cracker.[1] National S'mores Day is celebrated annually on August 10.[2] The Guinness World Record for number of people making s'mores at one time was 423, set April 21, 2016 in Huntington Beach, California.[3]

S'mores hott chocolate, s'mores milkshake, s'mores over a campfire, or s'mores over a candle (if you live in an apartment and that's the only way you can toast that mallow) however it's made, I want s'more of s'mores.

Love this idea at a party or wedding. A s'mores bar!

I bought 7 of these chocolate bars at the store today and the register woman was looking at me like I was some crazy s'more lady. I think I am actually. They are divine.

Try this iron skillet s'mores dip. We made this one night with a few friends over and we all gathered around the skillet and just dipped our graham crackers in there. It was our little indoor campfire.  Crowd favorite!

If you live in NYC and looking for a fun place to go and eat some s'mores, we bought this Groupon and plan on going soon.

If you're a beginner at s'more making, this little clip will explain everything.

It's the little things in life. A simple s'more just bringing people together!
Only Americans would come up with such a recipe as the s'more and then have a National Day for it!  Thank you America

Happy National S'mores Day to all, and to all a goodnight.

the olympics

Summer Olympics 2016 are here!
Who's excited? I'm excited!
Gymnastics and track & field are my favorite to watch.
These athlete's journey to get to the Olympics is so inspiring that I do squats and push ups in commercial breaks to make it feel like I'm somewhat of an athlete.
Here are some facts about this year's games.

What did you think of the opening ceremony watching Gisele do the LONGEST catwalk in history!

There are always a few sports in the Olympics where I'm like...hmmmm..what is happening here? Dressage being one of them. Also referred to as, "horse dancing." It is weirdly captivating though.

Race walking maybe my new favorite sport. How do their ankles and knees move like that? I feel like there are A LOT of mom-walkers out there walking the track that may be able to compete in this! My mom being one of them.

Here are a few of my favorite Olympic Memories.

Kerri Strug sealing the gold medal with a broken ankle! What! Ouch!

Dominique Moceanu's balance beam performance. She is so little and young. She was always one of my favorites to watch.

Sports are such an incredible part of life. Cheers to the Olympics and for entertaining us for the next 2 weeks!

lots and lots of gold medals,

pinkalicious

There's this dusty pink rose color that I'm seeing everywhere! It's in the decor, flowers, make-up and fashion. Could this be the official color of summer? Maybe. Because I'm looooovin' it!

You can fancy it up or you can sport it down. And if you're looking for a color to spruce up your wardrobe or home, this could be it.

A beautiful rug to soften up a room.
I recently got this top and it's just as sweet as can be.
Flirty little dress for brunch with gals or date night with your love.
I could spend all weekend cuddled up in this.

Beautiful pillow covers.

Leo looked dashing wearing this pink linen suit in The Great Gatsby.

Why do girls wear pink? This interesting article tries to explain.

This color makes me want to listen to this song. I don't know why...

Pick up some dusty pink flowers and put on your dusty pink lipgloss and have a rosey weekend!

dusted rosey kisses,

thrifting

thrifting
Defined as: When one visits several different thrift shops, second-hand shops, and vintage clothing stores in the hopes of buying several items of cheap and unusual clothing and other items. One usually does this with friends.

Used in a sentence: "Hey, where did you get that weird top?" "Oh, I found it while thrifting, it was only a dollar."

This just about sums up my past weekend.  My mom came into town for a visit and we had such a good time. One of our favorite hobbies we do together is the beautiful art of thrifting. The city has some amazing treasures to find in thrift stores. You wouldn't believe some of the things people get rid of!  If you keep your eye out while walking up and down the streets of New York, you'll stumble upon a mirror, a chair, a mattress (stay away from those...bed bugs) just waiting to be discovered. I've picked up a couple of things off the side of the street and get the husband stare when I walk through the door, "Did we really need that?" And my response, "Uhh, duh! Yes! This is what our apartment has been missing!"

As the ole' saying goes, "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

My favorite thrift store in NYC. This is a one stop shop. They have it all! Clothes, artwork, furniture, vases, shoes, amazing finds! Proceeds go to end the crisis of homelessness and AIDS. New shirt = helping others.

Thrift stores have a soul to them. I have met some of the most interesting people in these stores who are looking for more than a broken-in pair of jeans. They are looking for an experience, a story, a piece from the past that reminds them of something, or just looking for something to give life back to.  One minute you're looking at a vintage coffee table and the next you're talking about what life was like when that coffee table was made.

Thrifting is all about finding those one-of-a-kind pieces. Anyone can go to H&M or Target and get a dress or a lamp, but if you find it at a thrift store, you're probably the only out there with it. There is an eclectic look that comes to your style when you shop around and not at the same store.

Get your mama, a group of friends, or go by yourself and map out the best thrift stores in your area by going to this website. Make a day out of it!

Are you a thrifter?
